Comunicado íntegro de Plácido Domingo. «Siento que debo emitir una declaración adicional para corregir la falsa impresión generada por mi disculpa en algunos de los artículos que informaron sobre la investigación de AGMA.
Mi disculpa fue sincera y de todo corazón, a cualquier colega al que pueda haber herido de alguna manera por cualquier cosa que haya dicho o hecho. Como lo he manifestado en repetidas ocasiones, nunca ha sido mi intención lastimar u ofender a nadie».
«Pero sé lo que no he hecho y lo negaré nuevamente. Nunca me he comportado agresivamente con nadie, y jamás he hecho nada para obstruir o perjudicar la carrera de nadie. Al contrario, he dedicado gran parte de mi medio siglo en el mundo de la ópera a apoyar la industria y promover la carrera de un sinnúmero de cantantes».
«Estoy muy agradecido con todos los amigos y colegas que hasta ahora, han creído en mí y me han apoyado en estos momentos difíciles. Para evitarles que mi situación pueda afectar, perjudicar o causar cualquier inconveniente adicional, he decidido retirarme de mis próximas representaciones de La Traviata en el Teatro Real de Madrid».
«Además, me retiraré de las representaciones en los teatros y las compañías que tengan dificultades en llevar a cabo esos compromisos. Por otro lado, cumpliré todos mis otros compromisos donde las circunstancias lo permitan».

«My apology was sincere and heartfelt, to any colleague who I have made to feel uncomfortable, or hurt in any manner, by anything I have said or done. As I have said it repeatedly, it was never my intention to hurt or offend anyone».
«But I know what I have not done and I’ll deny it again. I have never behaved aggressively toward anyone, and I have never done anything to obstruct or hurt anyone’s career in any way. On the contrary, I have devoted much of my half century in the world of opera supporting the industry and promoting the career of countless singers».
«I am grateful to all the friends and colleagues that, up until now, have believed in me and supported me through these difficult moments. In order to spare them harm or any additional inconvenience, I have decided to withdraw from my upcoming performances of La Traviata at the Teatro Real in Madrid».
«Furthermore, I will withdraw from the engagements in which theaters and companies find it difficult to carry out those commitments. On the other hand, I will fulfill all my other commitments wherever circumstances permit it».

«I have taken time over the last several months to reflect on the allegations that various colleagues of mine have made against me.
I respect that these women finally felt comfortable enough to speak out, and I want them to know that I am truly sorry for the hurt that I caused them.
I accept full responsibility for my actions, and I have grown from this experience.
I understand now that some women may have feared expressing themselves honestly because of a concern that their careers would be adversely affected if they did so.
While that was never my intention, no one should ever be made to feel that way. I am committed to affecting positive change in the opera industry so that no one else has to have that same experience.
It is my fervent wish that the result will be a safer place to work for all in the opera industry, and I hope that my example moving forward will encourage others to follow.”
(«En los últimos meses he dedicado tiempo a reflexionar sobre las acusaciones que varias de mis colegas han hecho contra mí.
Respeto que estas mujeres finalmente se sintieran lo suficientemente cómodas como para hablar, y quiero que sepan que realmente lamento el daño que les causé.
Acepto la plena responsabilidad de mis acciones, y he crecido a partir de esta experiencia.
Ahora entiendo que algunas mujeres pueden haber temido expresarse honestamente debido a la preocupación de que sus carreras se verían afectadas negativamente si lo hicieran.
Aunque esa nunca fue mi intención, nadie debería sentirse así. Me comprometo a lograr un cambio positivo en la industria de la ópera para que nadie más tenga que pasar por la misma experiencia.
Es mi ferviente deseo que el resultado sea un lugar más seguro para trabajar para todos en la industria de la ópera, y espero que mi ejemplo anime a otros a continuar»).
